Boycott Japanese Products Demonstration at Brisbane Consulate Sony, Mitsubishi and JALPAK+News links.Click headings to read more

Around 15 people from Byron participated in the protest. Dean Jefferys from Byron Whale Action Group, delivered the attached letters to Deputy Consul Mr Tamura at the Japanese consulate in Brisbane today. We also hand delivered letters announcing the Boycott Japanese Products campaign to Representatives from Sony. Mitsubishi and Japanese Airlines Today.

Dean Jefferys said "We asked Sony and Mitsubishi to join with Toyota to condemn Japanese whaling. This would get them of the boycott list. We also asked that they pass our message of concern about whaling up the chain of command in the company and to the Japanese PM. Sony and Mitsubishi said they would, while a rep from Japanese Airlines/JALPAK ripped up or letter in front of us. Deputy Consul Mr Tamura ensured us that he would immediately pass our concerns and letter to the Japanese Prime Ministers office. I also had an interview with the AAP and the main Japanese news wire service, so I think this Boycott Japanese Products campaign is gaining momentum and power. I feel todays actions in Brisbane brought the day when all whaling stops, closer "

It seems our little protest has made some big waves. Check out these links
